Biosphere

Ever since I was a kid I've been obsessed with the concept of bio-spheres. Little self-contained ecosystems where nothing but light enters and nothing but enjoyment and wonder exit. The most advanced biospheres can last many years and even contain small snails and the like. KQED visited our friends over at MAKE and they whipped up a nice biosphere recipe complete with snails and shrimp. Go ahead, play god. [via]
