Ceramic Jiko

kenya_ceramic_jiko.jpgThis latest project comes from the far land of Africa (unless you’re reading this in Africa, in which case all the other projects come from the far land of America).  Nations like Kenya are great places to find good DIY projects because they don’t always have a lot to work with and, as they say, necessity is the mother of invention.  This cermaic jiko improves on traditional wood-burning stoves by requiring less fuel and is thus more efficient.

The AfriGadget blog contains many more “a lot from a little” type projects from Africa.
