Don’t thow out those bags!
Either crochet them into a reusable shopping bag (I have one made of old cloth strips that I use ALL THE TIME) or sew a cool little bag to store them for general reuse.

As a humanitarian project, our church collects plastic grocery bags, cuts them into strips and sends the strips to women in Africa who make handbags. They sell the finished handbags to tourists and can feed their families for months on the sale of just one. Win-win!
