Apparently Thomas Edison wasted his time with all those thousands of light bulbs he made before getting one that worked. He could have just plugged a pickle into the wall (or you know, whatever they had for electricity back then)! Although it doesn’t last as long (10 seconds maybe), and it looks like it gives off a lot of smoke, it sure would be convenient if I could just plug a pickle into my light socket instead of a light bulb.
