Spray Can Handle
The spray can handle is an essential for anyone who plans on painting with spray paints for very long. Not only does it keep you from getting your fingers all covered in paint (saving you awkward conversations with police officers), but it will keep your hands from cramping up after holding the cans in such a naturally awkward way. The handle was salvaged from an old library cart and appears to use the brake mechanism to trigger the nozzle. Perhaps a brake handle from a walker would work too?
Update: Doh! It appears the handle was purchased from a store and made for this purpose. Not exactly DIY but still a good tip.

Is this really salvaged from the cart? I don’t think it is. I’ve seen these in stores such as wal-mart. I think the poster was just saying that he/she used the handle for painting the cart, not that they made the handle from the cart. I don’t see any possible reason why a library cart handle would have a little keyring hole on the end of it…>.>
There are 2 kinds of spray paint handles: one that grabs the outside of the lip (as shown in the article’s picture) or one that grabs the inside lip. The one that grabs the INSIDE is much more reliable (read: unlikely to allow the can to twist or unexpectedly release) when attached. It holds on so much better that you can even shake the can up while holding the handle.
