Using one lens of the binoculars for looking through and one lens for focusing the IR beam, you can easily turn off TV’s that would normally be out of range. Drive by people’s houses and snipe their televisions from your car, you’ll be encouraging them to get off the couch and do something useful - like read DIY:happy.
